Yoga for Grief Practice
Yoga for Grief is a class designed to help students navigate through grief, loss, and change with a series of grounding movements and breathwork. We’ll begin with breathwork to calm the nervous system and help us make space for our grief before moving into stretches that encourage us to explore where movement feels stuck or static and to gently, with intention, nudge past it. Yoga poses - where we’ll stay low to the mat - help us find a sense of grounding and balance.
Yoga blocks*, a blanket, and a pillow are suggested props although they are not necessary to participate in this practice.
*Feel free to substitute with items from your home: thick, hardcover books, sturdy boxes, or taller tomato or pineapple juice cans can stand in for yoga blocks.
